I live in the most beautiful post card/snow globe town of Crested Butte, CO. The landscape here is phenomenal and if you have ever visited in the summer you will understand why it is named "Wildflower Capital of Colorado". It is unreal. It is also wild. Real Wild. From elk, deer, foxes, bears, grouse, rocky mountain sheep, mountain goats, and even the elusive mountain lion the Gunnison Valley has it all.
I try and photograph our wildlife neighbors in a way that shows them in their own element. Being wild, in the wild. Real Wild.
A little about me..
I bought my first DSLR camera after my daughter was born in Montana. I wanted to take high quality photos of our growing family. When we moved to Crested Butte, Colorado, I couldn’t help but take photos of my “wild neighbors” as well. Now, my daughter and I go on almost daily adventures looking for wildlife. My goal is always to show animals in their natural state, but I also see more than that. When I look at one of my photos I also see the journey it took to get there. The tracking, the hiking, the luck, the snacks to keep a toddler happy, but most of all I see my daughter learning and seeing wildlife in ways that rarely are seen. Which really is why I enjoy photography so much. My camera allows me to capture these hidden moments with these incredible animals and then share a glimpse into their lives with others. I hope to use this site to share the photos, memories, and stories of what we see in our valley and beyond. Ultimately, I hope our adventures inspire you to go out on your own adventures and see what the outdoors has to offer.
